The Waveshare 4.3 inch display set the scale for the Mini Retro TV Gift Build. It was large enough for the video loops to feel worth watching, but small enough to keep the finished object in that tiny retro-TV sweet spot.

Once the screen and Raspberry Pi were working together, the rest of the build could wrap around them: printed case, speaker grille, USB power, wiring, and the volume knob. The display made the project feel like a real miniature screen instead of just a decorative shell.

For a gift build, that was the payoff. The display helped make the little TV feel personal, usable, and fun without forcing the case to become bigger than the idea.
