CENTRAL MACHINERY 6 lb. Dual-Drum Rotary Rock Tumbler

The Central Machinery dual-drum rock tumbler was where the rock-polishing experiment started. During COVID, I used it on ordinary yard rocks just to see what kind of color and shine might be hiding under the rough surface.

It did a good job while it was running, and the early polish checks made the experiment feel worth doing. The rocks started to show color that was not obvious when they were just sitting outside, which made the whole process more fun than expected.

Even though that small tumbler eventually led me to build a heavier custom version, I still think of this one as the tool that proved the idea was interesting in the first place.
