JET 10" Benchtop Drum Sander
The JET benchtop drum sander has been most useful when a project needs a panel flattened cleanly instead of just sanded by hand. The Patterned Plywood Side Table was the clearest example: all those small patterned pieces needed to become one usable surface.
It also fit naturally into the kind of prep work needed for the 80th Birthday Book Box, where flat, clean panels helped the engraved and epoxy-filled details look sharper.
I like it for glue-ups and layered work because it makes the reveal stage more predictable. When the surface comes out even, the pattern or engraving gets to be the focus.
