Wall Clock
Build Date:
This abstract wall clock started with pine strips and a thrifted chipped blue glass bowl, then turned into a modern handmade clock with a jagged black face, 3D printed hour markers, handmade blue sea-glass accents, and a simple clock movement.
Building the Face
The clock face was built from pine strips instead of a single round blank. That let the final silhouette become the main design feature: a stepped, jagged outline that still reads cleanly once it is on the wall.

Finish, Markers, and Movement
Once the shape was built, the face was surfaced and finished dark so the metal markers and clock hands would have strong contrast. The 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions got triangular 3D printed markers with blue glass inserts, while the other hour positions use simple silver markers.

Blue Glass Accents
The blue accents started as a chipped thrifted glass bowl. The bowl was broken into small pieces, then tumbled in a rock tumbler to soften the edges and give the pieces a sea-glass texture. Those handmade pieces became the color detail inside the 3D printed triangular markers.

The finished clock is part functional object and part wall sculpture. The black pine face gives it weight, the jagged outline keeps it from feeling like a standard round clock, and the blue glass adds a small color payoff once you get close.
