Hardwood Reindeer and Sleighs

Build Date:

I made these hardwood reindeer and sleighs as gifts. The contrast comes from glued-up hardwood stock instead of paint, with walnut, maple, ash, birch, and cherry mixed into the forms.

The reindeer shapes came from compound cuts on the bandsaw, turning the glued-up blanks into dimensional profiles with antlers, feet, and body curves.

Reindeer Shape

The close views show the early payoff from the bandsaw work: a readable reindeer silhouette, small dark accents, and the natural contrast built into the blank.

Gift Set Reveal

The finished batch brings the reindeer and sleighs together as a small run of handmade gifts. The sleigh panels use the same dark and light hardwood contrast as the reindeer details.
