Mother’s Day Card 2026
Build Date:
I made this Mother’s Day card for YaYa from a 1/8-inch cherry wood blank. The artwork started as a ChatGPT-generated vector-style image, then I painted the blank with white matte linen chalk paint, masked it with TapeManBlue transfer tape, and engraved it on the Xtool F1 Ultra.
The engraving was set up in Xtool Creative Studio, and the color came from black, gold, bronze, and silver foil. After removing the tape, I sprayed the card with a clear matte finish to set the paint and foil.
Design and Engraving
The clean digital design was the starting point, then the cherry blank was engraved before the painted and foiled finish.
Foil Detail
The close-up check helped confirm how the engraved lines and foil accents were reading before the final reveal.
Finished Reveal
Once the tape came off, the white chalk paint, black linework, and metallic foil gave the card its finished contrast.
Final Result
The finished piece is a small handmade gift that ties together AI-assisted artwork, laser engraving, careful masking, hand-applied foil, and a clear matte top coat for a personalized Mother’s Day card.
